The gardens & the countryside. Warm, family atmosphere. The nuns were very friendly & hospitable.
The fact that guests had to be back before 10:30 at night.

Lovely setting overlooking Florence. Beautiful gardens. Easy bus trip to city centre.
Staff don't speak english but we were able to cope.

We did not realise this was a guest house run by nuns who kindly suggested a curfew of 10.30 in the evening - we requested a later arrival time which was fine. Despite a language barrier they were helpful and welcoming. The grounds were stunning and the views of the countryside and views of Florence were beautiful. It's a 30 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio (all down hill) offering more amazing views.

The weather was wonderful. Had a relaxing stay for 3 nights. - the double room with a view was the best. - the breakfast was absolutely excellent, with a variety of meals including slices of fresh bread, pastries, eggs, and bacon.

The lead nun was amazing! We joked with another guest that she was like MacGyver! The food was very nice. The gardens were amazing and we enjoyed them very much. If you are going to Florence to tour, you will find this a bit out of the way (but can easily take a bus to town, etc.) If you are looking for a place to get away from the city, this is a lovely choice.
We took dinner without asking the price and were shocked that it cost 25 euro each! It was a good dinner, but we were travelling a bit on a budget and this came as a big surprise.

The villa sits on a beautiful piece of land not too far from Piazza Michelangelo. It overlooks the city. This made travelling in Florence easy for us. We parked the car at the Piazza and saw Florence on sightseeing buses and by foot. The value for this villa was good. Staying here was a different experience for us.
You can't be in a hurry, and you shouldn't expect the typical amenities of a hotel. Breakfast was very modest. So were the beds.

Stay here if you want something a bit different-all the photos are accurate, the grounds are gorgeous, the nuns are great, very business-like but friendly. The evening meal is a fab 4-5 courses with wine, water and bread, but probably not ideal if you are fussy/ allergic / veggie as there is no choice-to give you an idea we had soup/salad/chicken in lemon sauce with roasties and veg/ice cream and then a fruit bowl.So nice we booked for the second night and that was even better. One meal for 2 costs about 50 euros, and we were so stuffed we could barely make it to the loggia on the 2nd floor to watch the sun set.Bliss.

The restaurant here is fantastic for dinner and serves excellent dishes, located in a beautiful, secluded spot not too far from another great dining spot, La Beppa Fioraia.

We love the ambience of the place. The serenity, the 'old' feel of the villa and the garden. The nuns who run the place give a 'Sound Of Music' touch to the whole experience. Ample parking. You can park your car at Piazza Michelangelo which is 5 mins away and take a bus to the city. Saves the hassle of driving and parking in the city. The sisters don't speak English, however some of the kitchen staff do. I would definitely stay there again.
The sisters don't speak English, therefore communication was a bit difficult. The internet access was on an hourly basis, using access cards that the sisters hand out. You can get a few access cards, but it's not very convenient. In summer, when the sun stays out till late, it's a shame that you have to be in by 10pm. :)
